What if history had worked out differently…

Did you know there was once an effort to make Oklahoma an all-black state? Although it never happened, dozens of independent all-black towns formed and many residents thrived. They built businesses, started schools and grew strong communities. Today only a few of these towns remain. None of the towns are all-black anymore. Some have very small populations and are barely hanging on. This ongoing hope and struggle fortifies our nation’s fabric.
